My brother recently told me that there is a growing population of pelicans on the Mississippi River! I’ve never heard of pelicans in this part of the country, so this was quite a surprise. He’s aware of their presence from the Stoddard area up to Lake Pepin and attributes declining panfish catches during the past several years due to their terrific appetite. (They eat approximately 5 lbs. of fish a day!)
I think this would be a great topic for the up-coming season. Public awareness of this “invasive species” is next to nil!
I LOVE your show1 Keep up the good work!
Hi Dan
We own and operate a lodge in Southwest WI, where we promote flyfishing and other outdoor activities. We would like to look into donating a stay at the lodge as a prize for your Outdoor Wisconsin banquet. I don’t know when or where it is, or anything about it. Could you give me some guidance. You can check out the lodge at mayflylodge.com. Let me know if you would be interested.
Thanks
Steve Bentz/Mayfly Lodge
You have a fantastic show and baquet. Keep up the great work
